Presto to Acquire Leading Dutch Safety Training Company BHVNederland, Strengthening Its Position for European Growth and Expansion

Swedish Presto Group (“Presto”), Europe’s leading company within active fire safety, safety training, and first aid, has signed a binding agreement to acquire BHVNederland, a leading safety training company in the Netherlands. The closing of the transaction is expected to take place on November 3, 2025. This strategic acquisition further strengthens Presto’s European position, as BHVNederland specializes in company emergency response courses (“BHV”), first aid and safety trainings, and consulting for occupational health and safety. The company also supplies and maintains prevention equipment and deploys flexible personnel for safety-related services. BHVNederland is headquartered in Rijswijk and serves thousands of customers nationwide.

The acquisition of BHVNederland means that Presto has created an even stronger platform in the Netherlands following its acquisition of Velco Brandveiligheid, a leading fire safety company, earlier this year.

Adding BHVNederland to Velco and Presto Group will continue to drive organic growth in the Netherlands, and new and existing customers will benefit from an even stronger specialist across safety training and fire safety.

“We are delighted to welcome BHVNederland to Presto. With this step, we are strengthening our position as a leading authority in fire safety and workplace safety in the Netherlands. By combining the expertise of BHVNederland with that of Velco, we are creating a powerful partnership where our brands complement and reinforce each other, while maintaining their own identities as we contribute to a safer Netherlands. Together, we offer organisations an integrated safety concept, from structured preparation and the right equipment, to practical, purpose-driven training. This is how we bring our shared mission to life: Saving lives, together,” says Staffan Pehrson, CEO of Presto Group.

Kees Weerheim became involved with BHV Nederland in 2010, and in 2016, he became the owner of the company. BHVNederland has become one of the largest independent providers of BHV training and safety consultancy in the Netherlands, building a strong reputation with a loyal customer base and a commitment to quality and practical, life-saving education.

Kees Weerheim and Mike Van Gogh, the owners of BHVNederland, will remain involved with the company as managing directors to ensure continued success in the Netherlands.

"Presto is the natural partner for us, and we look forward to strengthening our position and continuing our growth together. Crucial for us is that we already share the ambition to develop the industry in a positive direction. Both BHVNederland and Presto have a lot to learn from each other, and together we can become an even better company for all our customers and employees," says Mike Van Gogh, owner of BHVNederland.
